Man thought to have drowned on Camps Bay Beach

According to news sources a Cape Flats man have allegedly drowned on Camps Bay beach after getting into trouble in the surf. The Nokia rescue helicopter was on the scene in minutes, but failed to spot the man after a thorough search.

Volleyball Tournament Postponed

According the the Cape Times, the Camps Bay volleyball tournament has been postponed until November and the blue stands that has been a bit of an eye sore is being dismantled. Camps Bay beachgoers are obviously thrilled, allthough I think that it would have given Camps Bay good exposure nationally.

We'll keep an eye out for November...

Argus cycle tour through Camps Bay

The Argus Cycle Tour seemed to have gone off without much of a glitch except for a high injury rate due to the above average wind conditions. Cyclists seemed to enjoy the tour as always and many smiles were brought on my spectators lining Camps Bay's streets and cheering them on. Camps Bay Beach looked spectacular as always and was cleaned well this time round after the action. Camps Bay's restaurants were busy from early morning on Saturday with many cyclists familiarizing themselves with the roads towards Llundudno and surrounds.

It was a breathtaking day in Camps Bay! I'm sure everyone's looking forward to next year already!

Restaurant Review: Cape Fish Market, Camps Bay

Venue Type: Seafood

Ambience: Relaxed, Vibey (as with most Camps Bay restaurants), but not noisy.

Features: Sushi Bar, Smoking area and outside balcony (for those beautiful Camps Bay sunsets!)

Comments: This is a surprisingly well organised restaurant and the prices are very competitive with the surrounding restaurants in Camps Bay. I'd say average spending per person would be around R150 and up. The sushi is world class and your Pounds, Dollars or Deutch Mark will go very far! The winelist is also of good quality at reasonable pricing.

Update: We went back again and had an extremely helpful waitress, always smiling and delivering great service!! Please ask for 'Titia' when you make your booking!!
